It’s summertime and the living is easy. Summer is in full swing at your DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). DPR's recreation centers, parks, pools, and spray parks are open and ready to be enjoyed by District residents. During July, DPR continues to offer a full range of summer activities at parks, swimming pools, and recreation centers across the District of Columbia.
July will find Independence Day celebrations at DPR centers across the District. Please take a moment to review the list of highlighted events below, and remember this is only a glimpse of the many activities and programs you can find at DPR throughout July. Adult Fall Leagues
Various Locations
Registration for Adult Fall Leagues will begins July 5, 2010 through August 13, 2010. The following leagues will be offer in the fall are: Adult Fall Slow Pitch League, Adult Fall Kickball League, and Adult Fall Flag Football League. Leagues schedule to start on August 30, 2010. Region 3 Junior Olympic Championships

Time: 8am – 6pm
This event is the qualifier track meet for the USATF Junior Olympics National Championships held in Sacramento, CA. In order to qualify, each athlete must place in the Top 3 places for each event in their respective age divisions. Region 3 is consisting of track teams from as north as Maryland all the way to as far south as Georgia, and is considered one of the toughest regions in the nation. USATF Junior Olympic National Championships
Hughes Stadium, Sacramento City College, 3835 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA Culmination of Junior Olympic Qualifying track meets from the local level to the regional level that bring the nation's best track & field athletes to Sacramento, CA to run in the USA Track & Field Junior Olympic National Championships. The national championships only include ages 9 to 14 year old athletes. Track meet that will conclude the last of DC Speed's regular track meets of the 2010 Spring track season. No qualifier meets are required to attend this meet. AAU National Youth Games

Ages: 7 – 18
Culmination of the AAU qualifier track meets that brings athletes from all over the nation to compete in the AAU National Youth Games. Athletes competing in track & field, long distance running, and racewalking in their respective age divisions at chance to be one of the top athletes in the nation at their event.
