The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Youth Football program is part of the DC Pop Warner Football League with participating youth that range from the ages of 5-15, the Pop Warner charter is held by DPR, and the league is operated in partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.
Founded in 1929, Pop Warner Football is the only youth football program (local, regional, and national) that sets and enforces a strict age and weight matrix which reduces the risk of injuries. Pop Warner is also the only national youth sports organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order to participate.
The DC Pop Warner Football League has two divisions which compete against one another for the opportunity to represent DC Pop Warner Football in the regional playoffs in November, and the chance to compete in the Pop Warner Football Super Bowl in December.
DC Pop Warner Football features six Pop Warner Football age/weight divisions of play, which are listed below. For more information or to register, please visit a DPR center, a Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, or contact the DC Pop Warner Football League at (202) 498-2243 or the DPR Sport Office at (202) 671-0314.
