DPR Fun Days

During the 2012-2013 school year, when the DC Public Schools (DCPS) have full day closures for staff development, the agency will offer a DPR Fun Day, a single-day program offering fun and enriching activities (such as sports activities, arts & crafts, and more) for children ages 6 - 12 years old. DPR strives to meet the needs of District families when the District's public schools have planned closures.

DPR Fun Days will be offered at select DPR sites on:

  • Friday, October 19, 2012
  • Friday, December 14, 2012
  • Friday, February 15, 2013

Sites will offer "DPR Fun Days" from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Before-care will not be provided. The over-arching theme for DPR Fun Days will incorporate DPR’s “Move, Grow, and Be Green” initiative, as DPR continues to plant the seeds of personal development and environmental responsibility.

February 15th Fun Day locations:

  • Columbia Heights Community Center
  • Kennedy Recreation Center
  • Chevy Chase Community Center
  • Lafayette Recreation Center (NOTE: Participants will need to be picked up and dropped-off at Chevy Chase Community Center)
  • Joseph H. Cole Recreation Center
