Summer 2009 - Employment Opportunities With DPR
DPR is seeking highly motivated and energetic individuals to be part of the DC Department of Parks and Recreation’s (DPR) Summer 2009 staff. DPR will accept applications for Summer 2009 employment until May 1, 2009.
Summer 2009 positions include one week of paid, mandatory training, and 8 weeks of summer programs.
Applicant Requirements for DPR Summer Employment Positions
- Applicants must be 16 years of age (15 years for lifeguards) or older. For Camp Riverview (residential camp), applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Except for Lifeguards, applicants must possess 200 applicable hours working with children (i.e. after-school tutoring, teaching, mentoring etc.)
- If applying for a position in a therapeutic camp, applicants must possess at least 100 hours working with children, youth and/or young adults who have special needs (have developmental disabilities).
- You will be required to submit a copy of your government or school/university/college photo identification card.
- All positions require a criminal background check in accordance with the Child Youth and Safety Omnibus Act before an offer of employment can be made.
- Some positions may be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
