Office of Partnerships and Development
Created in 2005, the Department of Parks and Recreation’s (DPR) Office of Partnerships and Development seeks to foster support for DPR through donations, grants, establishing innovative public and private partnerships, and volunteer service by individuals, groups, and organizations.

DPR Partnership Programs
DPR welcomes partnership proposals from community and non-profit organizations, and others interested in partnering with DPR. DPR offers several different partnership opportunites:
- Community Gardens - DPR provides community gardens for use by the public across the District. DPR community gardens are managed jointly by the Office of Partnerships and Development and Environmental Education program.
- Corporate Partners - DPR encourages corporate citizenship and community stewardship. Through the Corporate Partners program, organizations can collaborate with DPR and donate in-kind services or make financial contributions towards park projects, recreational programs and events or capital improvements.
- Park Partners - DPR offers two Park Partners programs, “Adopt-a-Park Program” and the “Friends of Program” for the support, improvement, beautification, advocacy, fundraising and maintenance of DPR facilities.
- Programmatic Partnerships - DPR Programmatic Partners have the unique opportunity to design creative and quality programming for District residents.
