Sports Camps

Opportunities abound for youth to learn the fundaments of their favorite sports at DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) sports camps! Campers will learn the rules and regulations of the chosen sport and engage in physical game play. Sports camp will encourage physical fitness while teaching participants the concepts of teamwork and sportsmanship.

DPR will host five, two-week sessions at each location.  Camps operate Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm and are open to youth ages 6 to 13 years old.  Tennis Camp participants must be ages 8 - 13 years old.

Nothing But Net Basketball Camps
Participants will learn developmental appropriate basketball skills while learning sportsmanship and engaging in other recreational activities.

Camp SCORE
Participants will partake in a variety of sporting activities while learning teambuilding skills and engaging in various other recreational activities.

Participants will learn developmental appropriate soccer skills while learning sportsmanship and engaging in various other recreational activities.

Camp Spirit Cheerleading Camp
Participants will learn the basics of cheerleading while engaging in various other recreational activities.

Tennis Camp
Participants will develop tennis skills while learning sportsmanship and engaging in other recreational activities.

ACHIEVE Triathlon Camp
Offered in partnership with DPR, ACHIEVE Triathlon Camp is a free 6-week camp that helps kids master the fundamentals of swimming, cycling, running, and triathlon racing, as well as the essentials of proper nutrition, stretching, strength-training, and flexibility. All kids are provided with bikes and swim gear, free of charge. On July 24, 2009, the final day of camp, kids will participate in a timed short-course triathlon race, certified and sanctioned by the USA Triathlon Association (USAT).  Registration for this free camp must be done at one of the ACHIEVE Triathlon Camp sites listed below:

Camp Fees (per session):
District Residents: $100
Non-Residents: $150
