The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Newark Street dog park project, located on Newark Street, NW, between Idaho and 39th Streets, NW, is a partnership between DPR and the Newark Street Park K-9 Friends. 

 

The Newark Street Park Dog Park application was approved by DPR in June 2008 by DPR after receiving the formal recommendation of the Dog Park Application Review Committee (DPARC).

 

This future 11,000 square-foot off-leash dog park will be located in the southeast corner of the property.

 

Planning and design of the dog park is scheduled to begin in January 2009.
