Wilson Aquatic Center Manager

Cecilia Washington is the Wilson Aquatic Center Manager. A native Washingtonian, she attended Woodrow Wilson Senior High School and studied at Frostburg State University, majoring in mass communication and recreation. At Frostburg State she served two years as Student Government Association finance chair, and became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
In 2003 Ms. Washington began her career with
DPR Aquatics. As a lifeguard, instructor, and pool operator, she contributed to the growth of DPR Aquatics programs. In 2005 Ms. Washington became a member of the
National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA). Ms. Washington previously served as the site manager of the Harry Thomas Sr. swimming pool, where she started the Harry Thomas Swim team. Prior to being the Manager of Wilson Aquatic Center, Ms. Washington was the Assistant Manager at the Takoma Aquatic Center.
Ms. Washington is a certified Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), and holds a national accreditation to instruct AFO courses. Ms. Washington has certified over 40 aquatic facility operators.
