(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Human Resources Division is currently accepting applications for Summer 2016 jobs. DPR strives to provide high quality recreational programming and is looking for talented individuals to join our team. DPR's Human Resources is offering employment opportunities for the following positions:

Summer Aquatics staff will have the opportunity to be pool managers, assistant pool managers, lifeguards, customer service representatives (CSR's) and more.

Summer Camps staff will have the opportunity to be facilitators, assistant facilitators, counselors, activity specialists and more.

Summer Support Services staff will have the opportunity to be materials handlers and motor vehicle operators.

These positions are covered under DC Law 15-353, the Child and Youth, Safety and Health Omnibus Amendment Act of 2004, effective April 13, 2005, as amended. For that reason, all selected candidates for hire will be subject to criminal background checks, traffic record checks, or both, and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

For the 2016 Summer, DPR will launch a new application system, in a new way. For each job type (ie. REC Camp, Little Explorers Camp, Aquatics, etc.) interested applicants should click on that positions specific application link. Within that link, you can apply for the various positions offered within that camp or division. Please note that there is no longer one general link for all DPR summer positions. Applicants must apply within the specific camp or division of interest. Please note that Aqua Day Camp positions are located under Aquatics and are no longer classified under Camps/Aqua Day Camp.

Please visit DPR Summer Jobs on DCHR to go directly to a listing of DPR summer job applications only; or visit the 2016 Positions Description page for a comprehensive list of positions, titles, qualifications, pay rates, descriptions and more. Please note that the DPR Summer Hire application is not the same at the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) application nor DPR's full time employment opportunities.
