(WASHINGTON, DC) Due to the popularity of the 2014 summer camps, today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that four additional camp offerings will be added. DPR offers various high quality, affordable and structured camps for District residents. Each additional camp will offer 30 slots, which are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration will open on Monday, April 14th at 12 noon for the following camps:

ACHIEVE Triathlon Camp
: Deanwood Recreation Center (1350 49th St., NE)
: Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Ave., NE)
Achieve camps are not a "full day camp," they operate from 9a -12:30p.

Aqua Day Camp (Session 2 only)
: Turkey Thicket Aquatic Facility (1100 Michigan Ave., NE)

Aqua Day Camp (Session 3 only)
: Takoma Aquatic Facility (300 Van Buren St., NW)

Goal! Soccer Camp (Sessions 1- 3 only)
: Stoddert Recreation Center (4001 Calvert St., NW)

REC Camp
: Ridge Road Recreation Center (800 Ridge Rd., SE)
(In person registration only)
Camp session dates are as follows:
- Session 1: June 23 – July 3, 2014 (Holiday July 4th)
- Session 2: July 7 – July 18, 2014
- Session 3: July 21 – August 1, 2014
- Session 4: August 4 – August 15, 2014
Please note that the follow camp has been cancelled:
- 3 Pointers and Prose Camp : Fort Stanton Community Center
Starting April 14th, applicants can register online via the Summer Camps Registration page or in person at the DPR Summer Camp office located at Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street, NW - 4th floor). Space fills on a first-come, first-served basis and enrollment is subject to availability. It is recommended that parents create an online DPR account for all campers in the DPR registration system prior to the registration period. For the REC camp at Ridge Road, registration must take place in person only at the center.
Residents interested in applying for reduced rate, must apply in person at the Summer Camp office (1480 Girard St., NW - 4th floor) prior to registering for camps. Please note that reduced rate applications will be accepted throughout the entire Summer 2014 season, however District residents interested in applying for a reduced rate must apply PRIOR to registering for camp. Non-District residents are not eligible for reduced rate.

The camp office is located at the Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street, NW, 4th Floor - Washington, DC 20009) and the hours of operation are Mondays and Tuesdays: 10 am - 7 pm and Wednesdays through Fridays: 10 am - 5 pm. The Camp office is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
