(Washington, DC) – This July, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is excited to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). Join us for an array of events at community parks, pools and recreation facilities.

  • Are you an outdoor enthusiast!?! Come out today, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 5 pm – 8 pm at Chevy Chase Community Center (5601 Connecticut Avenue, NW – Ward 3) for lessons in caving, spelunking and views of the planets and stars with telescopes at the Outdoor Adventure Night.
     
  • Join DPR's Small Parks Division and Universal Capoeira Angola Dance Place for a Brazilian martial arts performance at the DPR Triangle Park Series on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 11 am – 12:30 pm.
     
  • Join us for the second of 4 late night pool parties at Oxon Run Pool (501 Mississippi Ave., SE - Ward 8) on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 7 pm – 11 pm. Be sure to #SaveTheDates for the entire 2016 late night pool party series!!
     
  • Come out and enjoy fun activities, entertainment and food all FREE at the 2nd Annual DPR Rec Day on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Randall Recreation Center (South Capitol and I Streets, SW) from 11 am to 4 pm.
