Since 2008, to commemorate breast cancer awareness month, DPR’s recreation centers in Ward 8 have come together with community members, friends and family to bring awareness to breast cancer.  The event celebrates the courage, faith, strength and fun spirit of former DPR employee Ms. Diane Bushrod, who died from breast cancer in 2006. Ms. Bushrod, worked at Barry Farm Recreation Center, was a Ward 8 resident, native Washingtonian and an athlete.
