Senior Services Division

The Senior Services Division is responsible for providing a variety of social, recreational and leisure services for seniors. Senior programs are designed to enable seniors to actively engage in meaningful recreational activities that reflect a high level of independence.   • 34th Annual DC Senior Games (2017)

  • Mayor Muriel Bowser and DPR's 2017 Senior Fest @ Kenilworth Park (4300 Anacostia Avenue, NE)
    Date & Time: Thursday, June 29, 2017 | 10 am - 2 pm
    Description: DPR’s Senior Fest is an annual, free event held in the month of June in partnership with the DC Office on Aging, where seniors from all over the city enjoy socializing with each other while enjoying living entertainment, music, various board games, various health exhibits and a very nice lunch out on the park site.

  • Senior Luncheon Cruise @ Odyssey Cruise Ship (600 Water Street., SW)
    Date & Time: TBD
    Tickets must be purchased in advance.
    Description: Seniors within the District of Columbia will enjoy a lovely fresh buffet style lunch, various musical games, and a variety of live music entertainment while cruising down the Potomac River.

  • Senior Fun Camp (Overnight Camp) @ Camp Riverview (Scotland, MD)
    Date & Time: Tuesday, August 29 - Thursday, August 31, 2017 | Various Times
    Advanced registration is required
    Description: 
    Senior Fun Camp (last week in August) is about getting away and having fun. Activities include dance and exercise, arts and crafts, fishing, games and entertainment. The Senior Services and Recreational Services staff also have the following activities such as meditation on the water, learning how to prepare healthy meals, learning how to check your own blood pressure and learning how to control/manage your diabetes.

The Senior Services Division offers a wide variety of services in the area of recreation, socialization, health promotion, transportation and special events. Transportation to and from DPR's various programs and outreach events are provided to encourage seniors to participate in events and activities throughout the city.
