(Washington, DC) – The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is currently seeking proposals from licensed food vendors to provide nutritious refreshments at select outdoor swimming pools from May 23 through September 7, 2015 for the convenience of the public. The sales will be part of a pilot program helping DPR to gather information to design future vending programs under DPR permits.

Francis Pool – 2435 N St NW – Ward 2
Upshur Pool – 4300 Arkansas Ave NW – Ward 4
Harry Thomas Pool – 1743 Lincoln Rd NE – Ward 5
Randall Pool – 25 I St SW – Ward 6
Kelly Miller Pool – 4900 Brooks St NE – Ward 7
Anacostia Pool – 1800 Anacostia Dr SE – Ward 8
Priority will be given to proposals that offer nutritional food options at low cost to the public. Accordingly, at the minimum, all proposals should include a list of refreshments or beverages for sale, prices of the products, desired location and public payment methods. Vendors should also include a description of their mobile vending apparatus and the space or electricity needed. More than one vendor may be chosen for a site. Proposals should not exceed three pages. Vendors should reference the link below for nutritional information:

General Requirements of vendors:
- Operate during the hours agreed upon by DPR.
- Provide DPR copies of DOH and DCRA permits (if applicable).
- Provide feedback on the DPR vending report to DPR following each week of vending.
- Report weekly on the peak sale times, product preferences, prices, and scheduling challenges through a DPR standard report.
- Revenue sharing agreement based on sales (fees may apply) and/or any costs to the government. However, vendors that only sell fruits and vegetables under farm programs, SNAP or WIC will not be required to pay any fees.
Vendors that meet the above requirements should submit proposals to [email protected]. DPR will begin to review these proposals on Friday, May 15th, 2015. All approved vendors will be at the discretion of DPR.
