District Activates Cold Emergency Alert for Monday, March 3, 2014

(WASHINGTON, DC)  In response to the dangerous winter weather that is currently affecting the District of Columbia, the Cold Emergency Alert had been activated for Monday, March 3, 2014. The District's Hypothermia alert is activated and additional services and supports are available to assist the District's homeless residents.

Due to the current weather conditions, the Alert Night and Overflow shelters will remain open 24 hours and will close on Tuesday morning.

The West End Library and Sherwood Recreation Center will open at 7 pm tonight as warming sites.
