Join us on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Zimmerman Field at Randall Recreation Center (South Capital and I Streets, SW) from 11 am - 4 pm for an extravaganza featuring fun activities, entertainment and food for the whole family.

“DPR’s motto is Move, Grow, Be Green and we offer many exciting programs, activities and services that fall into those categories,” said DPR Director Keith A. Anderson. “DPR Rec Day is the opportunity for residents to experience many of these offerings in one location. You will be amazed by the amount and quality of fun the day will bring.”

This year, DPR has added even more exciting activities. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, rock wall, face painting, Madden & NBA Playstation 4 challenge, jewelry making, imagine play station, quick start tennis, line dancing, tee ball exhibition, obstacle course, moonbounce, fashion shows and much more, including competitive fun each hour.

There will be give aways and over 20 information stations from organizations such as Coca-Cola, Washington Kastles, DC Water, DC United, The First Tee, Troops for Fitness, Industrial Bank, MedStar Washington Hospital Center and more.

This is just a sample of the activities of the day, more entertainment and organizations are still to be announced.

This year, NRPA is celebrating the month by hosting a selfie photo contest. From July 4-31, NRPA will issue weekly challenges for people to get out in their parks and recreation facilities and discover their super powers. Weekly prizes will be awarded. The contest can be entered via Facebook or by uploading a photo to Twitter and Instagram using #SuperJuly and #SuperParkSelfie. Visit www.nrpa.org/July for official rules and details.
