Marvin Gaye Recreation Center to Close for Construction

(Washington, DC) - The Department of General Services (DGS) on behalf of the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will begin demolition of the existing Marvin Gaye Recreation Center (6201 Banks Place NE) and basketball courts on July 5th, 2016. This demolition will be done in preparation for the new recreation center and basketball courts. Our targeted completion is Summer 2017.

During the renovations the Recreation Center and basketball courts and baseball field will be closed to the public. However, the playground and splash park will remain open.
