(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that select DPR Aquatic Centers will be closed due to this year's 29th Annual Black History Invitational Swim Meet (BHISM).
The Takoma Aquatic Center will close at noon on Thursday, February 12. Takoma will serve as the host site for the BHISM will be closed for public swimming through Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
Wilson Aquatic Center and Barry Farm Aquatic Center will be open for public swim only (no classes will be held) during their normal operating hours on Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15, 2015. Only Wilson and Barry Farm will be open during the Black History Invitational Swim Meet.
All other DPR Aquatic Centers will be closed starting on Friday, February 13 and will re-open on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
Please note that all DPR facilities (including all Aquatic Centers) will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2015, in observance of President's Day.
