(Washington, DC) – The Bowser Administration, led by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), will host over 40 reservation-required events in the week leading up to Halloween. There are free and safe events for youth, adults, and pets throughout all eight wards.
“It’s great to able to offer the community events where they can safely get treats, and frights or connect with neighbors this Halloween season,” said DPR Director Delano Hunter.
This year, DPR launches its Halloween-related activities showing the movie “Hocus Pocus” on Friday, October 22 at Joseph Cole Recreation Center, and will partner with MARS M&M on Tuesday, October 26 at Barry Farm Recreation Center to give away free costume accessories and candy to hundreds of DC children.
Upcoming DPR Halloween events include the 22nd Annual “Haunted House at Fort Davis” and the Washington, DC-themed Zombie Fest at Kennedy Recreation Center. Other unique activities include a costume tennis party at Banneker Tennis Courts called “Monster Smash,” and “Howl-o-ween” costume dog parade at Columbia Heights Recreation Center.
