About Programs

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to offer District residents hundreds of free programs for recreational purposes. No matter what your interests are, DPR likely has an activity, class, sports league, or social network that will allow you to connect with your neighbors and enhance your day-to-day life. And, best of all, most of DPR's great programs are free for DC residents.

2. Select an age group
3. Browse location and program type
4. Select a program, add to cart, and proceed to checkout

Program Season Registration Dates:

  • Winter Season: 
    • Season dates: November 17, 2025 - March 14, 2026
    • Aquatics programs registration: November 4, 2025
    • All other programs registration: November 5, 2025
  • Spring Season: 
    • Season dates: March 16, 2026 - June 14, 2026
    • Aquatics programs registration: March 3, 2026
    • All other programs registration: March 4, 2026
  • Summer Season:
    • Season dates: June 22, 2026 - August 31, 2026
    • Aquatics programs registration: May 12, 2026
    • All other programs registration: May 13, 2026

  • Fall Season:
    • Season dates: September 2, 2026 - November 14, 2026
    • Aquatics programs registration: August 11, 2026
    • All other programs registration: August 12, 2026
  • Winter Season:
    • Season dates: November 16, 2026 - March 14, 2207
 
Unique Registration Dates:
  • Tackle Football: Last Monday in February
  • Summer Camps: Early 2025
  • Cooperative Play: Second Monday in April - registration now open!
  • Cheerleading: Second Monday in July
 
Reduced Rate for fee-based programs
DPR provides a reduced rate on fee-based programs based on income for qualifying families. You must be approved by DPR to receive the reduced rate before you can register for programs. Details on the reduced rate and a link to the reduced rate form can be found here. 
 
Refund Requests 
If you have paid for a program and are no longer able or willing to participate, you may request a refund. Please note that refund requests must be received prior to the start of the program, and certain programs may require refund requests to be received by a specific date. You can submit your refund request here.
