OPERATIONS FOR JULY 3 AND 4, 2026
Due to extreme heat, DPR will operate the following recreation centers as cooling centers from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4:
- Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Avenue, NE)
- Rosedale Community Center (1701 Gales Street, NE)
- Deanwood Community Center (1350 49th Street, NE)
- Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street, NW)
- Emery Heights Recreation Center (5701 Georgia Avenue, NW)
- Raymond Recreation Center (3725 10th Street, NW)
- Sherwood Recreation Center (640 10th Street, NE)
- King-Greenleaf Recreation Center (201 N Street, SW)
- Ferebee-Hope Recreation Center (700 Yuma Street, SE)
- Fort Stanton Recreation Center (1812 Erie Street, SE)
DPR will operate the following indoor pools from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4:
- Turkey Thicket Aquatic Center (1100 Michigan Avenue, NE)
- Deanwood Aquatic Center (1350 49th Street, NE)
- Ferebee-Hope Aquatic Center (700 Yuma Street, SE)
Additionally, all outdoor pools and spray parks will be open on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Check DPR Splash for real-time information on emergency closures or pools that reach capacity.
