Communal Farms
DPR Communal Farms are urban Ag sites that are organized as communal production farms, managed by DPR staff and community volunteers, with the purpose of providing various ways for community members to volunteer, participate in hands-on educational opportunities, and to receive free veggies including (4) weekly veggie giveaways from May to December.
***In the 2024 growing season DPR Communal Farms grew and gave away 14K pounds of produce to 100s of community members in need***

Partner Urban Farms
A DPR Partner Urban Farm is an urban agriculture site that is located on DPR property but is managed and programed by a DPR partner. These partners are all 501c3 organizations that focus on offering gardening and nutrition programs while increasing access to healthy and affordable food to DC communities. These sites are designed to be more production style farms than community gardens with personal plots, but are great places to volunteer to learn more about urban agriculture.
If you’re interested in volunteering or want to inquire about programs please review the list below.
