Warm Hearts is our winter donation drive where Fort Stevens Recreation Center Senior Division and youth join together in an intergenerational event to help the homeless and less fortunate by collecting hats, socks, gloves and other items to help make those in need warmer during the winter.

Registration closes today, Thursday, December 3 at 12 noon for the Dec 4 DPR Fun Day. Fun Day is free, but registration is required.
During the 2015/2016 school year, when DC Public Schools (DCPS) conducts full-day closures for staff development, DPR offers Fun Day Camp - a single-day program offering fun and enriching activities (such as sports activities, arts and crafts, and more) for children, ages 6–12 years old. Fun Day Camp is free, however registration is required as DPR strives to meet the needs of District families during DCPS select closure days.

(Washington, DC) - Today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that all recreation/community centers, administrative offices and indoor aquatic facilities will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
The Fort Stevens Recreation Center staff and volunteers will cook and prepare breakfast sandwiches and fruit bags for homeless citizens of the District. The meal bags will be distributed throughout the city’s four quadrants to feed and assist those in need. Our goal is to serve 400 persons.
