Mayoral Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Fort Greble Recreation Center Playground

Come out and join Mayor Vincent C. Gray, Councilmember Marion Barry, DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), and the DC Department of General Services (DGS) and the Fort Greble community as we cut the ribbon on the seventh Play DC Playground.

This playground's design is based around the Civil War history in the Fort Greble area.  As a part of the Sustainable DC initiative, the new park features include a green roof pavilion, community garden, extensive storm water management system and more.

Step Afrika is a highly interactive 50-minute performance for K-12 students that highlights the rhythm, physicality and history of stepping, and culminates in a group activity to get students on their feet.

Senior Fun Camp is about getting away and having fun during this annual 4-day, overnight event!  Fun camp activities will include spiritual meditation, exercise & fitness warm-ups, jewelry making, arts and craft, fiber art, hand/line dancing, bingo and much, much more! 

 

2013 Senior Health Expo & Fest

The Senior Picnic Fest  is an annual event celebrating DC's seniors.  Participants will enjoy socializing with each other as they enjoy live entertainment, music, health exhibits, board games and guest speakers.  Lunch will also be provided on the park site.

The Petworth Jazz Project

The Petworth Jazz Project showcases the best in local jazz talent. All shows take place on the lawn at 8th and Taylor Streets N.W., in Washington D.C. and are free to attend. This event will take place the last Saturday of the month for May 25, June 29, July 27, August 31 and September 28, 2013.

The Movie Night program travels throughout the District hotspots during the summer months. This activity shows family oriented movies for those in the community. This summer we have served over twenty-five hundred (2,500).
