The Palisades’ signature event, 49th annual July 4th Parade & Picnic! Following the parade there is a free picnic for all at the Palisades Recreational Center featuring hot dogs, watermelon, drinks, live music and moon bounces.

All DPR summer camps, recreation/community centers, indoor aquatic centers and administrative offices are closed for the holiday.
Outdoor aquatic centers and children's pools will operate from 12 noon - 6 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th. Spray parks will operate on their normal schedule.
Playgrounds are closed on July 3rd, but will reopen on July 4th and close at 6 p.m.
Tennis Courts will close on July 3rd and will reopen on July 6th.
DC Parks and Recreation’s Fun Wagon will travel throughout the District and DPR camps this year during the summer months of June – September and some special events. The Fun Wagon holds excessive activities such as: jump ropes, hoola hoops, skates, scooters, bikes, basketballs etc.
