The Kids, Camps & Co-op Division will be hosting parent orientations throughout the city beginning in June. The goal is to get parents better acquainted with our policies as well as our numerous summer programs and desired outcomes.

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) in partnership with USA Track and Field and Hershey will host the RunJumpThrow Citywide Open Track Meet. During the event, youth from throughout Washington, DC will compete in field events, long distance races and sprints. The track meet will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the last meet will end at 2:00 p.m. USATF will provide free USATF memberships to all track meet participants. In addition, participants will receive a free t-shirt.
Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick-off this summer’s outdoor pool season for the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) at Banneker Pool. DPR has 18 outdoor pools, 24 spray parks and 4 children's pools, as well as 11 indoor pools. All outdoor aquatic facilities will open officially on Saturday, May 23rd.

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will open registration for the 2015 Summer Programs on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 6:30 a.m. From sports programs such as swimming, softball, and tennis; to fitness programs such as aerobics and Tai Chi; to educational programs such as photography, there are myriad options for DC residents to recreate, educate or just relax. DPR offers a variety of programs and activities for all ages!!!
