Tomorrow: Mayor Bowser to Kick-Off Outdoor Pool Season

(Washington, D.C.) – Tomorrow afternoon, Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick-off this summer’s outdoor pool season for the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) at Banneker Pool. DPR has 18 outdoor pools, 24 spray parks and 4 children's pools, as well as 11 indoor pools. All outdoor aquatic facilities will open officially on Saturday, May 23rd.

(Washington, DC) – On Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) in partnership with USA Track and Field and Hershey will host the RunJumpThrow Citywide Open Track and Field Meet located at Spingarn High School (2500 Benning Rd., NE).

(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has temporarily closed King Greenleaf Recreation Center (201 N Street, SW). Constituents will be notified when the center re-opens.
 

 

DPR Permit Application Window opens Monday, June 1, 2015 - Friday, June 12, 2015

Last Date:

From Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 12, DPR will accept permit applications. 

Applications received during the permit window are reviewed and applicants are notified of their permit status during the 'notification period'. 

DPR will handle all late permit requests for fields and gyms in the order they are received. 

Late permit requests will not be processed until after all on time permit requests, submitted during the permit window, are complete.

This summer the Skatemobile will travel throughout the District and DPR camps during the months of June-September and some specials events, allowing the youth to experience the mobile roller rink in their communities. The vehicle comes equipped with a sound system and carries over 100 skates.
