Bald Eagle Recreation Center Modernization

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is expanding and modernizing the Bald Eagle Recreation Center with three project components: modernization, boxing annex expansion and outdoor improvements.

Modernization

DPR is modernizing the existing recreation center. All program areas are being improved. Project elements include:

  • New reception and front desk
  • New multipurpose and program rooms
  • New kitchen
  • New restrooms
  • Upgraded computer lab
  • New finishes (paint and flooring) throughout the building

Boxing Annex Expansion

The new 6,600 square-foot addition will house Bald Eagle's boxing program. The new building will include:

  • Boxing gym
  • Fitness area
  • Locker rooms
  • Shadow boxing area
  • Trophy case
  • Pantry
  • Storage and office area

Exterior Improvements

Improvements to the outside of the building include:

  • Resurfaced play courts
  • Refurbished athletic lighting
  • Field improvements
  • New playground equipment
  • New outdoor site furniture
  • Exterior building improvements
  • Improved parking area

Schedule and Status

Work on the modernization of the Bald Eagle Recreation Center is ongoing.
