
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is expanding and modernizing the Bald Eagle Recreation Center with three project components: modernization, boxing annex expansion and outdoor improvements.
Modernization
DPR is modernizing the existing recreation center. All program areas are being improved. Project elements include:
- New reception and front desk
- New multipurpose and program rooms
- New kitchen
- New restrooms
- Upgraded computer lab
- New finishes (paint and flooring) throughout the building
Boxing Annex Expansion
The new 6,600 square-foot addition will house Bald Eagle's boxing program. The new building will include:
- Boxing gym
- Fitness area
- Locker rooms
- Shadow boxing area
- Trophy case
- Pantry
- Storage and office area
Exterior Improvements
Improvements to the outside of the building include:
- Resurfaced play courts
- Refurbished athletic lighting
- Field improvements
- New playground equipment
- New outdoor site furniture
- Exterior building improvements
- Improved parking area
