Dakota Park Renovation

Dakota Park is a 104,429 square foot park located in Ward 5, near the eastern border of the District of Columbia. In February 2011, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) vetted design options with the community for possible renovations to the park. In the summer of 2011, DPR selected a contractor to implement the improvements based on feedback from the community.

Site improvements include:

  • Two new shade structures
  • New playground equipment for ages 2-5 and 5-12
  • New rubber safety playground surfacing
  • New litter receptacles
  • Walking trail
  • Adult exercise equipment
  • Seating and tables
  • Water fountain
  • Park lighting
