Douglass Pool

The Douglass Community Center and Pool is currently CLOSED, as of Friday, April 25, 2025:

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the DC Department of General Services (DGS) are excited to inform the community that the project to build a new Douglass Community Center (1922 Frederick Douglass Ct SE) and park is moving forward. The community center and site will close to the public starting Friday, April 25, 2025, with construction estimated to be completed in 18 months. Due to construction, the Douglass Outdoor Pool will also be closed for the 2025 summer season.

This project includes demolishing the current community center and pool house and constructing a new facility that will house both the community center and pool. Amenities will include a fitness center, updated playground equipment, a new splash pad, and other flexible-use spaces. The baseball diamond will be converted into a multipurpose field so it can be used for other sports.
