
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) worked with the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization (OPEFM) to renovate and modernize the Guy Mason Community Center located at 3600 Calvert Street, NW in Glover Park.
The project was a renovation to the entire facility, with the main goal to ensure an accessible facility for all patrons. The project included:
ENTIRE CENTER
- a new elevator
- new ADA compliant restrooms on each floor
- new HVAC system, windows, and doors
UPPER FLOOR
- renovated multi-purpose room
- new art work room
MAIN LEVEL
- new kitchen
- renovated classrooms
- new office
LOWER/BASEMENT LEVEL
- renovated art studios
- new art studio support spaces (kiln room, glazing kitchen, glazing workroom, spray booth)
Guy Mason re-opened for community use in early August 2011.
