Lamont Park Masonry Renovation

In September 2008, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) began a masonry renovation project at Lamont Park, located at Lamont and Mt. Pleasant Streets, NW.

Project included replacing missing bricks, both in the plaza and at the stage steps, and the rebuilding the curbing along all of the tree areas. DPR work with a specialist in historic masonry renovation to make certain that all new brick and mortar match existing brick and mortar, ensuring the preservation of the unique aesthetics of this park.

In early 2011 DPR restored the cosmetic appearance and structural stability of these masonry elements, in addition to repairing the decorative tiles around the stage area. These enhancements have improved the usability and functionality of the site.
