Aerial View Newark Street Dog Park

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Newark Street dog park project, located at 39th Street and Newark Street, NW, was a partnership between DPR and the Newark Street Park K-9 Friends.

The Newark Street Park Dog Park application was approved by DPR in June 2008 after receiving the formal recommendation of the Dog Park Application Review Committee (DPARC). DPR, in partnership with the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization (OPEFM), undertook the construction of Newark Street Dog Park. This 9,100 square-foot off-leash dog park is located in the southeast corner of the property. The project was completed in August 2010.
