The play space at Mitchell Park is located at 1801 23rd Street, NW (intersection of 23rd Street and S Street NW) in Ward 2. The site currently features play equipment, multi-purpose field, a multi-purpose court, and gardens with seating areas and walkways.
Timeline
- First community meeting: December 19, 2013 from 6:30-8:30pm at Mitchell Park Recreation Center (1801 23rd Street, NW) - The meeting will be open house style, so please drop in any time during the two hour window.
- Second community meeting: Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 6:30pm at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 2200 California Street NW (around the corner from Mitchell Park).
- Presentation at ANC meeting: Monday, February 24, 2014 at 7:00pm at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 2200 California Street NW.
- Pre-construction meeting: TBD
- Construction start date: TBD
- Expected completion date: TBD
- Ribbon-cutting ceremony: TBD
