(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has temporarily closed Benning Park Community Center (Southern Ave. & Fable St., SE) due to a police incident in the Benning Park area.

All activities and permits for this evening have been cancelled, everyone at the recreation center is safe and parents are asked to please pick up their children.  The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is conducting an investigation in the area.  
 

Constituents will be notified when the recreation center re-opens.  

The center will be closed for the remainder of today, Monday, June 8.
