(WASHINGTON, DC)  In response to the dangerous winter weather that is currently affecting the District of Columbia, the Cold Emergency Alert had been activated for Monday, March 3, 2014. DC HSEMA had activated the District's Hypothermia alert and additional services and supports are available to assist the District's homeless residents.

Due to the current weather conditions, the Alert Night and Overflow shelters will remain open 24 hours and will close on Tuesday morning.

The West End Library and Sherwood Recreation Center will open at 7 pm tonight as warming sites.

The DC shelter hotline will have the latest information regarding locations and will provide transportation to shelter locations.  (this sentence read as follows: The Shelter Hotline will have the latest information about open sites and will transport as feasible and safe under the conditions - that read confusing to me...  hopefully I restated it clearly.)
