 (WASHINGTON, DC) – The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) today announced that all DPR aquatic facilities and recreation centers will be closed for the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, February 17, 2014.

 All scheduled permitted events and activities on DPR fields will be made available for the permitted period only.

Additionally, DPR will close all aquatic facilities on Saturday, February 15, until Monday, February 17, because DPR is hosting the "Take Your Mark" 28th Annual Black History Invitational Swim Meet. More than 850 athletes from around the nation are expected to compete at this historic annual event that runs from today, Friday, February 14, to Sunday, February 16, from 8 am to around 5:30 pm each day. The invitational will be at the Takoma Aquatic Center at 300 Van Buren St., NW.

All DPR facilities will reopen on Tuesday, February 18, during their normal hours of operation.
