DPR Announces Annual Sew N Know Fashion Show

(Washington, DC) - The Sew N Know program curriculum has exposed thousands of District youth to the art, science, and business of apparel construction and the fashion industry.


WHAT:      The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) through the Sew N Know program has successfully facilitated another year of effective after school programming at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (SETLC). On Saturday, June 4th, 2016, the spring session Sew N Know participants will showcase garments they designed and created themselves the on the stage for friends, family, and the community.

The goal of the program is to effectively teach sewing disciplines in order to build youth's self-confidence, explore their own creativity, learn marketing and entrepreneurial skills, and ultimately assist them to become economically self-sufficient.

                  Media Interviews and photo ops will be available
                  *VIP Brunch will begin at 12:00 noon
