(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced a change in operational hours at DPR aquatic facilities and recreation centers on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 due to a staff conference.
- Aquatic facilities will open at their normal start times, however all aquatic facilities will close temporarily beginning at 10 am and will reopen at 5 pm on January 31, 2017.
- Chevy Chase Community Center (5601 Connecticut Avenue NW) will close temporarily at 12 pm and will reopen at 2 pm on January 31, 2017.
- Recreation and community centers will close at 8 pm on January 31, 2017.
DPR will use this day to convene all the agency's employees to review the level of service DPR provides to DC residents and visitors; and to set goals to ensure that residents continue to receive high quality service at all DPR centers, parks, events and activities.
All DPR facilities, if expected to open, will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) provides quality urban recreation and leisure services for residents and visitors to the District of Columbia. DPR supervises and maintains area parks, community facilities, swimming pools and spray parks, and neighborhood recreation centers. The agency also coordinates a wide variety of recreation and educational programs including sports leagues, youth development, therapeutic recreation, aquatic programming, outdoor adventure, camping and senior citizen activities. Adaptive programs and facilities are available for persons with disabilities.
