Washington, DC - This January, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is filled with opportunities for fun! Review the list of highlighted events below, and remember this is only a glimpse of the many activities and programs you can find at DPR throughout January. Throughout the year the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) offers an exciting variety of programs, classes, and special events. Listed below are just some of the many activities offered this month by DPR. For more information on these or other events, visit any DPR center.

ATHLETIC PROGRAMS

January 8 – March 25, 2012
DPR Adult Winter Futsal
Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, 1100 Michigan Avenue, NE
Time: 2pm – 7pm
Ages: 18 and up
Adult Men futsal teams are going to compete in a league for the winter period. Team registration fee is $500. and registration can be done online. Registration begins December 16 through January 5. For more information, call Sean Clarke, Soccer Coordinator at (202) 279-0599.

January 13 – March 21, 2012
DPR Youth Futsal League
Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, 1100 Michigan Avenue, NE
Time: 6pm – 9pm
Ages: 15 – 18
Teams will compete in a league while learning the fundamentals of the game. A team can carry ten to fifteen players .Registration fee per team is $100 and online payment is available. For more information, call Sean Clarke, Soccer Coordinator at (202) 279-0599.

King Revisited

La Wonderful’s Day

LaWan Exum CBS's "Big Brother's 2011” contestant, former Howard University, student and Department of Parks and Recreation employee will give-away t-shirts and hat and gloves for charity. Clothing Drive
Rosedale Recreation Center at Gibbs Elementary, 500 19th Street, NE

All Ages
