(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Human Resources Division is currently accepting applications for Summer 2018. DPR strives to provide high quality recreational programming and is looking for talented individuals to join our team.

DPR employment opportunities include the following:

  • Summer Aquatics staff will have the opportunity to be lifeguards, assistant pool managers, customer service representatives (CSR's) and more.
     
  • Summer Camps staff will have the opportunity to be facilitators, assistant facilitators, program monitors, specialists and more.
     
  • Roving Leaders staff will have the opportunity to be facilitators, assistant facilitators, and motor vehicle operators.
     
  • Summer Support Services staff will have the opportunity to be materials handlers and motor vehicle operators.

These positions are covered under DC Law 15-353, the Child and Youth, Safety and Health Omnibus Amendment Act of 2004, effective April 13, 2005, as amended. For that reason, all selected candidates for hire will be subject to criminal background checks, traffic record checks, or both, and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Please note that the DPR Summer Hire application is not the same at the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) application or DPR's full time employment opportunities.

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation provides quality urban recreation and leisure services for residents and visitors to the District of Columbia. DPR supervises and maintains area parks, community facilities, swimming pools and spray parks, and neighborhood recreation centers. The agency also coordinates a wide variety of recreation and educational programs including sports leagues, youth development, therapeutic recreation, aquatic programming, outdoor adventure, camping and senior citizen activities. Adaptive programs and facilities are available for persons with disabilities.
