WASHINGTON, DC – The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announces that registration is about to begin for another season of engaging and exciting summer camp programs. DPR Summer Camp registration will open for DC residents on February 27, 2012 at 12:00 PM. Registration will be open to non-residents on March 7, 2012 at 12:00 PM. Registration can be completed online or in-person at the DPR Summer Camp Office located at 1480 Girard Street, NW. Space fills on a first-come, first-served basis and enrollment is subject to availability. It is recommended that parents create an online DPR account for all campers in our registration system prior to the registration period in order to be best prepared.

Additionally, beginning February 13, 2012, at noon, DPR will hold a Pre-Qualification Period for DC residents who would like to apply for Reduced Rate fees. Applicants must come to the DPR Summer Camp Office to apply. Qualification requirements are available on the DPR Summer Camp website, summercamps.dc.gov. The DPR Summer Camp website maintains the latest information on camp fees and registration.

In order to ensure registration goes smoothly, an early in-person Summer Camp registration event will be held at Guy Mason Recreation Center on Saturday, February 25th for the following camp locations:

• Friendship Recreation Center
• Chevy Chase Community Center
• Chevy Chase Recreation Center
• Volta Park Recreation Center
• Guy Mason Recreation Center
• Rose Park Recreation Center

You will have the opportunity to enroll your child for a Summer Camp for any of these locations at Guy Mason between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Each person will receive one numbered ticket upon arrival and will work with a DPR staff member to enroll in Summer Camps and will be allowed to enroll up to 3 children (if you have more than 3 children to enroll you must bring documentation to prove they are your dependents). DPR SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS

• Session 1: June 18, 2012 – June 22, 2012 (One week only)
• Session 2: June 25, 2012 – July 6, 2012 (Holiday on July 4th – no camp)
• Session 3: July 9, 2012 – July 20, 2012
• Session 4: July 23, 2012 – August 3, 2012
• Session 5: August 6, 2012 – August 17, 2012

Days and hours of operation for the summer camps will be Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. There will also be an optional before & after care package available for an additional fee.
