February Fascinating Festivities at DPR

(Washington, DC) – This February, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host an array of events including a Multicultural Summer Opportunity Fair, Valentine’s Day Socials, African American History Programs and more!

  • DPR will host the 30th Annual Black History Invitational Swim Meet at Takoma Aquatic Facility (300 Van Buren Street, NW) on February 14 – 16, 2016. Over 1,000 elite young swimmers from around the USA will converge for spirited competition.
     
  • Registration for the 2016 spring programs begins Tuesday, February 16, 2016. To see a full listing of programs, go directly to the A to Z ASAP Program Index page for the entire list of spring programs, activities and classes offered.
  • DPR is hosting a 2nd Annual Multicultural Summer Opportunity Fair on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
     
  • The 33rd Annual DC Senior Games registration will open on February 19th and will remain open until Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:59 pm. Each year, the DC Senior Games features activities including: basketball, bowling, horseshoe toss, pickleball, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field.
     
  • As we start to prepare for another great summer of swimming, field trips, creative activities, and new experiences, DPR is excited to announce that the 2016 summer camps rolling registration for District residents will open on Monday, February 22, at 12 pm. Registration for non-District residents will open on Monday, March 21 at 12 pm. Camp registration will remain open until that session or camp location is full.
