(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has temporarily closed Harry Thomas Sr. Recreation Center (1743 Lincoln Road, NE) due to a police incident in the Eckington area.  Everyone at the recreation center is safe and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is conducting an investigation in the area.  Parents are asked to please pick up their children from the center.

Constituents will be notified when the recreation center re-opens.  The center will be closed for the remainder of today.
