(Washington, DC) – November is a time of reflection as we think about all of the things we are grateful for. During this season of thanks, DPR will offer a variety of events including clothing and food drives, community potlucks, a Ward wide chess tournament, Family Fun game night and more.
Please remember that registration opens for the winter program offerings this month and that November is National Diabetes Month, so while everyone is enjoying the holidays, please remember to stay healthy this holiday season!

Come out for a day of outdoor activities, sports and fun as DPR launches a new program, "Young Men, Future Leaders" and celebrates the programs first kick off event. Annual Ward 7 Thanksgiving Day -"Feed the Homeless Program"
Fort Davis Community Center (1400 41st Street, SE – Ward 7)
Time: 7 am – 1 pm
Ages: All are Welcome
Staff and volunteers will gather at Fort Davis Recreation Center beginning at 7am, to cook and prepare breakfast for the homeless citizens of the District of Columbia. After the food is packaged, staff and volunteers will begin to deliver the food to the homeless citizens throughout the city.

Recreation Centers to operate on an Alternative Schedule
Select DPR centers will open from 10 am to 8 pm on the day after Thanksgiving. All other centers will operate from 11:30 am to 8 pm. Aquatic facilities will operate on their normal schedule.
