Fields and Courts are closed, Extended Pool Hours have been rescinded

(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has announced that due to today's extreme heat conditions and the thundershowers that are sweeping through the District:
- All outdoor fields and courts are closed.
- All permitted athletic events are suspended.
- Today's extended hours for outdoor pools will be rescinded due to the threat of severe thunderstorms expected in the District and unexpected lower temperatures.
- Pools will close at their normal time, based on the area weather conditions.
- Outdoor pools located in areas of the city that continue to experience adverse weather conditions will not re-open today.
