(WASHINGTON, DC) – The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announces that all natural grass fields will open on Monday, March 21, 2016.
DPR's natural grass fields undergo yearly scheduled maintenance for re-seeding, re-sodding and re-lining.
DPR offers 116 athletic fields for community use and organized play. Visit DPR Athletic Field Inventory for a location suited to your interest.
Please note that the re-open date may be subject to change, should any unforeseen inclement weather occur. Poor field conditions can be hazardous to participants, and can damage the playing surface, making the field unusable over time. If permit holders are found using the fields when they are closed, permits can be revoked. All artificial turf (synthetic) fields will remain open. Patrons will be notified if the fields re-open date will be delayed.
