(WASHINGTON, DC) - On Saturday, September 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mayor Bowser’s DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host the District's 4th Annual DPR Rec Day, an event that puts parks and recreation's programming and activities on full display for residents. Mayor Bowser has invested more than $200,000,000 over the course of her administration to ensure that all residents across all eight wards experience the power of play. This annual celebration offers residents a sampling of the year round activities.

Attendees of DPR Rec Day will enjoy food, giveaways, vendors, and live music from Pan Masters Steel Drum Orchestra, DPR employee and Grammy-nominated rapper T.O.N.E, 15 year-old blues guitarist phenom Je-Lan, and local genre-bending bands Bela Dona and Black Alley. The event will feature a host of social and spectator DPR activities including: rock climbing, bubble soccer, pickleball, kickball, ziplining, moon bounces, face painting, video games, tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, girl’s basketball, Tiny Mite football, a flag football exhibition, amateur boxing matches, soccer, the DPR Fun Wagon with skates, bicycles and more.

The event will also highlight Mayor Bower's Fit DC initiative with the "#FITDC Zone," which will include fitness clinics, healthy meals, wellness vendors, as well as a neighborhood bike ride with LimeBike, and a scavenger hunt with the November Project.

DPR Rec Day is open to the public and free of charge. Find out more or secure your spot at DPR.Events. The hashtag #DPRRecDay
