Select Playgrounds to Undergo Minor Repairs

(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced today that four playgrounds will undergo minor maintenance on play space and splash pad surfaces.

  • Kennedy playground (1401 7th Street, NW - Ward 6) will be completely closed from Tuesday, November 4 through Friday, November 7;  and will reopen Saturday, November 8. 
     
  • Turkey Thicket playground (1100 Michigan Avenue, NE - Ward 5) repairs will only affect the hill climber.  This piece of equipment will be offline from Monday, November 10 through November 14; and will reopen for public use on November 15.  The unaffected areas of the playground will remain open for public use.
     
  • Fort Stevens playground (1327 Van Buren Street, NW - Ward 4) will undergo repairs to the splash pad area only from Tuesday, November 11 through Saturday, November 15.  This minor maintenance project will not affect the use of the playground.
     
  • Palisades playground (5200 Sherrier Place, NW - Ward 3) will undergo repairs to the splash pad area only from Tuesday, November 11 through Saturday, November 15.  This minor maintenance project will not affect the use of the playground.
