UPDATE: DPR Announces the 2015 Winter Holiday Schedule

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that all recreation/community centers, administrative offices and indoor aquatic facilities will operate on the following schedule for the holiday:

  • All DPR facilities will operate on an adjusted holiday schedule and will close at 6 pm on Thursday, December 31.
  • All facilities will be closed on Friday, January 1 (New Year's Day);
  • DPR fields will be closed on Friday, January 1 (New Year's Day).  No permits will be issued on that day.
  • There are no permitted recreation center or fields activities on January 1. All grass fields are closed for the season. Parks, playgrounds and synthetic fields will be open for general use, however gated locations will remain locked; and
  • DPR's Winter Wondercamp operates on two sessions during DCPS' Winter Break.  Session 2 began on Monday, December 28 and will continue through Thursday, December 31.
  • All Centers, if scheduled to open, are expected to resume normal hours of operation on Saturday, January 2, 2016.
